Samuel Wanjohi

I am a One Health leader with more than 25 years of experience working at the intersection of science, policy, and community to address complex health challenges across human, animal, and environmental systems. My work is grounded in the belief that sustainable health solutions require collaboration across sectors, disciplines, and communities, with people always at the center.

I focus on strengthening health systems, building multi-sectoral and multidisciplinary capacity, and advancing global health security through innovation, partnership, and leadership development. Over the course of my career, I have combined field experience with strategic collaborations to influence policy, empower communities, and promote equitable and sustainable development. I am particularly committed to designing and scaling practical solutions, including the use of digital tools, that enhance impact while remaining responsive to local realities.

My work has contributed to both global discourse and national strategies, including Kenya’s One Health framework, where I have supported efforts to align policy, practice, and coordination across sectors. I am motivated by the challenge of translating complex evidence into actionable systems that improve resilience and preparedness in an increasingly interconnected world.

I care deeply about this work because it allows me to participate in shaping systems and environments that prioritize well-being, foster equity, and support sustainable development. Through my leadership and collaborations, I strive to help create healthier communities and a future in which people, animals, and ecosystems can thrive together.
